Windermere Last Lights is a painting inspired by countless summer evenings spent walking the dog during our vacations in Windermere. Each time, I was captivated by the sun setting over the mountains, casting a golden glow that made the landscape even more breathtaking.
To capture this memory, I used oil and cold wax, emphasizing subtle color transitions to convey the serene beauty of the moment. By working with tools like knives, squeegees, and color shapers, I avoided brushes, achieving a cleaner, more streamlined interpretation of the scene while maintaining its atmospheric charm.
Original oil and cold wax painting on cradled wood panel, 12x12x1.5 inches, sides stained and ready to hang.
