"Uplifting" was inspired by a warm early fall afternoon at the Bow River in Calgary. The contrast of the blue sky against the golden autumn leaves and the rugged terrain captivated me. The scene filled me with positive energy, and that's how the title came to me.
Painted on aluminum composite with oils, I used unconventional tools and brushes to create a sense of looseness and freshness, capturing the vibrant, fleeting beauty of the scene. The aluminum panel is mounted on a cradled birch board, wired, with the sides stained in dark wood. It is ready to hang.
